Today's Featured Biography
David Rein
After graduating from NFA in 1988, I attended SUNY Plattsburgh. While there I was selected to participate in the Study Abroad Program which afforded me the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe. After traveling I eventually studied and live in Northern England.
Upon my return and subsequent graduation from college, I was recruited to work at the NBC-TV affiliate in Utica, NY (WKTV-2) where I was the Daytime Director. After a short stint in Utica I returned to Newburgh in 1993 where I started my business, Community Communications. My first client was the Newburgh School District where, with the help of Tom Donato and John Mataraza, I coordinated the initial GAMS Tech TV Program at Gidney Avenue School. I am proud to say that this program still exists today and has been duplicated at several other schools throughout the district and NYS. After a two year contract with the district I moved on to other TV News jobs eventually becoming one of four Directors at News 12 The Bronx.
In 1997 I married my college sweetheart and the love of my life, Aileen; we honeymooned in Jamaica. We bought a terrific home near Chadwick Lake in Newburgh and in 2001 we were blessed with our first child, Brandon. Three years later the stork arrived again with our second blessing, Noah. In 2008 we had our princess, a little girl named Chelsea.
After a few years of working in the Bronx, I accepted a management position in Manhattan for a private organization. After 9/11 my job was eliminated and I was once again completely self employed. Since then Community Communications has grown and we continue to provide first class Audiovisual and other Communications based services to the Hudson Valley and beyond.
In addition to my business and family interests, I am was also an elected Board Member of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District from 2004 through 2007.
What the future brings only G-d knows, but we continue to live life to the fullest realizing how short life is and not knowing when our last day will be.
I truly hope you have been as blessed as we have and look forward to reconnecting with you.
