Today's Featured Biography
Kiernan Mc Manus
Hello to all. I hope life has been good to everyone over the years although I have no doubt each of us has had events that we would have preferred to pass on given the chance. After all, I have now been living in Bartlesville, Oklahoma for the past year and a half. I will save anyone who could possibly care the effort in looking this up by saying this is north of Tulsa and just south of Kansas. Kansas? Imagine that. I am thinking of getting a needlepoint to hang on the wall saying We arent in Kansas anymore Todo but then that would sound like I plan to stay here. Life aint bad here but
The brief synopsis of my time over the past 30 years does not include marriage or children which condenses the typing. I pursued a 4 year degree at UNLV and later the University of New Hampshire and managed to get things done after 6 years. The New Hampshire connection is due to Mom and Dad being from there and if you have never been there in the fall it is worth the time. Winters there are not. After returning to Nevada and thawing out I worked for several years in insurance and transferred to Phoenix.
After 13 years in that line of work it occurred to me that in order to continue marking off positions in despised industries it would be necessary to complete a transition to information technology. I completed a couple of AA degrees and while this line of work qualifies in and of itself for loathed personnel I wanted to extend this level of loathing to one of the most dastardly of industries and began working for the parent company of Circle K and 76 in Phoenix an oil company.
My goal was achieved when Phillips 66 purchased the company promising no changes would be made (these guys really enjoy their jobs) and then merged with Conoco. The outcome was that my job would be continued to be funded but the location would be in Oklahoma and they would pay to move me there. I said they enjoy their jobs didnt I? But unless you have been riding a bicycle exclusively for the past few years you may have noticed they are doing rather well. And yes, I am looking forward to the announcement next month of how much of a match will be made to my stock contribution. See loathing comes easy when put in the right context. Anyone care to wear their Bush/Cheney button to the reunion?
Most kidding aside, there are many good things here in OK including the fact people actually seem to mean it when they say have a nice day. I have been able to travel around the country a great deal over the years and have enjoyed many areas. However, I do still like looking out of the car window and seeing nothing but desert. There is a lot to be said for the brown stretches and the purple mountains. I hope you and yours are well and look forward to seeing all of you at the reunion.

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
