Lawrence Williams
Hi everyone.
I live in Pennsylvania and work in New Jersey. I would love to meet up
with you guys, so if you ever travel out east, or abroad, and you find
yourself passing through the area, give me a call or drop me a line. I
also go to NM about every four to six weeks, except summers. So that is
another way to get in touch with me.

More details: After graduation I went to New Mexico Tech and majored in
chemistry. In 1991 I went to The University of Arizona and finished a
Ph.D. in chemistry in 1996. I spent the next year at MIT and the following
three years at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center/Columbia University
in New York City. In 2001 I joined the faculty at Rutgers, The State
Unversity of New Jersey main campus in New Brunswick, NJ. I am a professor
of Chemistry. [There are a few current photos on my work website:

So while many of you were getting on with your life, I was still in school
or close to it. While in school, I got married, and had three kids (they
are wonderful, she is not). I am no longer married, and I now have a
partner (she is out of this world).
We like to work on our house (moved any wieght-bearing walls lately?),
bike (she leaves me in the dust), kayak (very fun), cook and eat (I am
especially good at eating, and wine and cheese are among my favorite - but
molten chocolate cake is right up there), read (classics mostly), think
(that's what I claim to be doing when others claim I am not doing
anything), talk (very good at this), play chess (not so good at this any
more), and travel (I especially like to think when I travel), but I don't
have time for much of any of those things lately (unfortunately). I focus
most of my time on research and teaching.
The 20th reunion has been on my mind for several years. But my children
will be here with us this summer, and on July 21st I will be flying back
from a conference. It is difficult to imagine getting out there for the
reunion.
I hope to see you (and hear from you) and if not soon, then perhaps on the
25th!
