Denis Raczkowski

Some 40 plus years on a trip down the NJ Turnpike, I am a retired Duke professor who managed to graduate from Duke twice, first with a BS and, a few years later, a PhD in neurobiology. Aside from protesting the Vietnam War and attending many Grateful Dead concerts, THE main highlight of my Duke daze was meeting my wife, Marcia Rementer. We celebrate our 43rd anniversary in November. We returned to the northeast (Philadelphia and Long Island) for seven years before Duke recruited me for a faculty position. We have two daughters, Liz (University of North Carolina) and Margaret (University of South Carolina) and two grandchildren (Scarlett and Wells.) I left academia in the early 1990's and started several businesses. In 2016, we moved permanently to our cottage in Emerald Isle on the Carolina Coast. Presently, I operate two sugar delivery systems in EI: Flip Flops Donuts and Polish Water Ice.

I missed the 10th reunion (gas shortage) and missed the 20th (out of the country.) I so enjoyed catching up with many classmates at our 40th and 45th reunions, so I AM planning to be present for our 50th. I hope you can be there, too!
