Today's Featured Biography
Nikolaj Sadolin
I am born in 1969 in Tehran, Iran, and I was adopted to Denmark in 1970, where I was raised in Dragoer - 10 miles from Copenhagen City (with Copenhagen Airport in between), which lies out to the strait of Oeresund (on the other side is Malmoe, Sweden). My four grandparents and other relatives also lives in Dragoer.
In 1987-1988, I was at Omaha Northwest High School - joined by another Dane, Christian Rostboll) as a Senior Foreign Exchange Student. In Omaha I lived together with Joy Pullen and her parents on 9354 Ellison Avenue.
Thereafter I went through a Management Traineeship (1988-1991) at Sadolin & Holmblad Ltd., which then was one of Europe’s largest paints, inks, adhesives, pigment and pesticide companies (founded by my great grandfather at Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1907 – Holmblad was founded in 1777), on Cyprus (1988-1989, in the USA (1989-1990), and in England (1990-1991, before working in Turkey (1991-1992) and Sweden (1992-1994).
Since 1994, I have lived in Denmark, where I from 1994 to 1998 worked with business research and analysis for TV documentary, TV prime time news, and TV money magazine at the Danish Broadcasting Company (DR). From 1998 to 2003, I worked with marketing analysis and strategy at Thorn EMI, Unicef, and Post Danmark.
In 2002, I entered University of Copenhagen, where I in June 2005 I became B.A. (History/Economics), and I expect to become M.A. (History/Economics) in December 2007.
In 2003, I began working with business news and research for the nationwide newspaper Politiken. I got employed by Copenhagen Business School in 2004, and first joined an economic research project on Danish multinational corporations at the Center for Business History. In May 2007, I joined at financial strategic research project focusing on Nordic multinational corporations at the Center for Strategic Management & Globalization at Copenhagen Business School.
Beside this, I have in 2006-2007 made business research and analysis for a DR TV historical documentary www.dr.dk/dr2/deskabtedanmark/), and I now makes synopsis for TV documentaries.
Since 1998, I have lived with my girlfriend, Lone, who is study Economics (EU Corporate Tax Harmonization) at University of Copenhagen. We live close to the center of Copenhagen (10 minutes from the Amalienborg Castle (Queen Margrethe II’s residence). We have no children, but a cat.
