Graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1975 and entered the Air Force; completed ten years active duty with assignments in Texas, Washington DC, Great Britain and Alaska. Transitioned to USAF Reserves 1986 and entered secondary-level teaching in social studies in Maryland, Alabama and Japan. As a USAF reservist, was deployed to Saudi Arabia in 2002 in support of Operation Southern Watch in Iraq. Owned and operated a bookstore in Omaha 2002-2010.
I am married to Jeanne Huber and recently celebrated our 34th anniversary. We have two boys: Charles, a paramedic in Plattsmouth, and Timothy, a UNL graduate currently teaching English in Japan.
