Today's Featured Biography
Pat Reddish Hafer
After graduation in 1961 I attended West Nebraska School of Nursing in Scottsbluff where I met my husband. We were married in July of 1962 and moved to Sutherland, NE. I spent the next 30 years raising three boys and working as a medical assistant in the Sutherland Hospital, Sutherland Clinic, Great Plains Regional Hospital in North Platte and Geiger, Vondrak, Sutton, Welsh, Shreck, Ophthalmology. In 1992 suffering from an empty nest syndrome my husband accepted a job as Superintendent of Schools in Bartley, NE. I spent several months wallpapering and painting the 100 year old house we moved into. After that I went to work as a medical assistant at Cambridge Memorial Health Center for eight years. During my years as a medical assistant I was twice President of the State Association of Medical Assistants and received a Medical Assistant of year award. I put in time as Cub Scout Leader, Mrs. Jaycees officers both local and state and I am active in the Methodist Church.
After Terry’s retirement we moved to Chappell, NE where we spent a year trying to decide our future. After spending one winter in Texas we decided to spend the next five years as full time RV’ers. Basically we traveled between the Black Hills of South Dakota and the Rio Grande Valley of Texas for six years. In the summer we are now living back in Sutherland, NE where we raised our children. Terry is happy playing golf and following the Huskers. I keep busy making quilts and knitting chemo hats. We spend as much time as possible with our grandchildren. About the first of November we pack up and go to Alamo, TX where Terry plays golf and follows the Huskers. I am very active in a group called the Texas Grandma’s. We make quilts and stocking hats for the needy children of the Rio Grande Valley. Our health is pretty good considering our age and we plan on spending summers in Nebraska and winters in Texas. When we get too old to drive ourselves we will have one of our kids get us to the right home for the right season. If any of you get to Texas stop in and see us. We would love to show you around.

Below are pictures of the 50th class reunion of our AHS Class of 1961 ~ Friday lunch before reunion began, Friday night at Janice Phillip Lawrence's home, Saturday at Newberrys, and Sunday brunch at Rosalee Cornette Hoff's.
