After graduating NHHS, I worked a few jobs in the Wilmington area, including as an Electrician's Helper (hard work), and an odd-job man for Intracoastal Realty at Wrightsville Beach (that was fun!). I joined the Navy in March of 1994 and entered their nuclear power program. After six years in the Navy, including four years on the USS ENTERPRISE, I had trouble finding a job that I really liked until I got hired on by Nortel in RTP. The job and the people were fantastic, but the economic downturn in 2001 really hurt us, and my product line ended up getting sold to a company called Solectron. I didn't want to work for them and had previously turned down an offer for a year earlier.
So after that I got a job in New Jersey with PSEG as a Control Room Supervisor at the Salem Nuclear Generating Station. I was there for over six years and left in May of 2008. My wife and I had recently separated and I was pretty well frustrated with my whole life, so I decided to make another big change and moved out here to California.
Pacific Gas & Electric hired me as a Procedure Writer for Operations in June 2008. It's a step down and less money, but it's day shift work, less stress, and will give me a time to work on going back to college - something I've been trying to do for about 7 years now. I've been going to Allan Hancock College working on my degree as time permits. I intend to transfer to California Polytechnic State University (aka Cal Poly) to complete an Engineering degree.
Ultimate goal - high school physics teacher.
Why - that's my business, not yours!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
