Retired to Carolina Beach in 1996 after 33 years in DC suburbs. Live on the canal, one block from the beach. I have done some part time consulting work over last 12 years for the Department of Defense, supporting an accounting system. Stay busy with family, church, United States Power Squadron (boating organization) and friends. Not a bad life.
Our children live in Annandale VA and Charlotte NC. We have two grandchildren who are 14 and 17 years old, plus 4 grand dogs.
Jerry and I are both Past Commanders of our local Cape Fear Sail and Power Squadron. We
are part of a conch shell band as part of that organization. A group of 20 - 24 of us play the conch shells as you would in a bell choir. We may not be great, but we have fun.
Jerry enjoys a weekly golf game with friends; I enjoy the dinner out with the golf friends and families. (They are celebrating their 500th game at a dinner on March 20th. I love my garden and cooking. We are part of a gourmet cooking group, which we both enjoy. We are also part of a play reading group - 4 to 5 couples getting together to read a host couple's choice of play "sight unseen". Great fun. Try it.
