Gary Pate

After High School I got involved with a theater company in Virginia for a couple years. Then did a short stint in the USAF. After serving, went on to study vocal performance at CCCC and then Middle Tennessee State University. Went back into theater and toured the US in various shows. Moved to Florida for the theater scene down there and got involved with Burt Reynolds and his theater group in Jupiter Florida. Got talked into moving to NYC in 1982 to pursue a possible career in opera. Studied privately for several years before launching a career which has led me to perform at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and with opera companies and symphonies all over the world. I met my partner in 1985 and we have been living in NJ for the last 27 years. I currently perform with the Metropolitan Opera in NYC and work as an accountant with Laura Geller Make-Up. I enjoy traveling, riding my horse Liadan, boating on Lake Hopatcong and partying with friends.
