Today's Featured Biography
Cheryl Hill
Returning to NC after a 30-year absence. After graduating WCU with a BS in Poli Sci (1982), I managed a picture framing shop in Westchase Mall in Houston, TX. Went to Japan for 12 years (English Teacher, Information Specialist, Japanese Database Researcher). My son Sean was born at the Red Cross Hospital in Tokyo, Japan. Returned to the States in 1997, and lived in Massachusetts for 14 years, continuing my education at Middlesex Community College (CADD Certificate, 2007) and Quinsigamond Community College (engineering & business). Plan to finish my MBA at UNC-CH.
Hoping to turn my art/business/engineering skills into my own business.
Teaching origami and trying to turn my craft into a cottage industry. Do you like to fold origami? Please get in touch. I need hundreds of 'star modules' from POLYHEDRON ORIGAMI FOR BEGINNERS by Miyuki Kawamura for making Truncated Icosahedral Stars, and other models shown in her book. One Staples Memo Cube has 500 sheets in 8 colors, for about $6.00. If you can fold the whole cube into 'star modules' I can pay about 0.16 cents per module (or, a penny per fold).
The Crane has 16 folds, and so does this 'star module' so this is no more difficult than the Crane. The book is out of print, but available online at www.googlebooks.com. If you can't figure it out from the book, I have 2 videos: 1) me folding a star module; and, 2) assembling 6 of them into the Tetrahedral Star. Email me at either (both)
