Today's Featured Biography
Bruce Dills
After high school, I ended up at Gaston College while I working evenings and nights at Food Town. It didn't take long to realize I wanted out of the grocery business. So I headed to Duke Power Construction.
I landed in their drafting dept. and after 7 year of drawing pipe, Catawba was ready to come online, so I transferred to Duke Power Maintenace & Construction (Plant Maintenance).
This was an eye opener as I got to "visit" all the old Duke electrical plants that were built in the 30's, 40's & 60's. I had a minor car accident, so it was thought I would be better inside the fence so to say...and I ended up McGuire Nuclear Station on Lake Norman.
I've been there for the last 24 years...in either the Planning or Scheduling Dept.(Work Control).
I married my high school sweetheart...if you remember Barbara Carringer (all 4'8" of her)...that would be Mrs Dills. We've been married..for 29 years now.
Our son, Broc, was born in 1988...Barb wanted 3 sons...but after one, she said that was enough. So 1..it is.
We actually moved closer to Ashbrook and live about 1 mile from the school. When Broc was attending Ashbrook, it was fun going to the games and I even joined the Booster Club. If you came to any of the Football or Baseball games...that was me selling you those hotdogs!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
