Event Announcement!
Meet & Greet gathering on Saturday

Dear classmates and friends:
I am happy to announce that it is official.... The SHS Class of '61, and friends are encouraged to attend our Meet & Greet gathering on Saturday June 1. The event will begin at approximately noon and continue for a couple of hours at Lakewood-Social, 1920 Chapel Hill Rd., a restaurant at Lakewood shopping center in Durham. We had a gathering there a couple of years ago when it was named "Honeysuckle." It is ideal for this type of meeting, free parking, good food, plenty of room indoors and outside (a
place will be set aside just for us). You can check its menu in the link below. Please invite and pass the word to friends and classmates from other classes as well. It is not necessary to sign up to attend but it would be thoughtful, and helpful. With that info, we can set aside the estimated space we will require. There is no charge for this event. We are looking forward to seeing and socializing with everyone while we are still young enough and able to meet. PLEASE PASS THE WORD...

I suppose the best news I could report presently is that grandparent-hood is an experience that........the little guy is something else....
That's how my initial bio-entry began a few (4 yrs ?)years ago. This update isn't much different except thta we have an 18 mo. grandaughter also now and she is one little ball of energy and daring.
And cute as her Mama.
We had to keep both of them last Oct thru Dec at their home in Charlotte while our daughter had serious, specialized surgery in San Diego.
I tell you folks, it ain't like it was when I was "young". Connor (4.5 yr) and Cate (18 mo) really wore us out. Anxiety about Jonee took it's toll also. I won't go into the details
here but she is a remarkably courageous young woman
I'll stop this for now. I just discovered that the site is still up and running so if you read this let me hear from you and pass the word that the w-site is still hot.
