I served two years in the Navy "SeaBees" after School then started a career with Duke Power after the Navy. I married Della Staton on June 4, 1961. We have three children,Donna,Pam and Darrell and two beautiful granddaughters, Morgan and Hannah.
While working I served on the National Home Builders Excutive Committe, Board of Directors and Chaired the Energy Committee where I testified before Congress on energy issues. I also served on the NC Home Builders Executive Committee and other positions.
After retiring I formed The Stafford Company, Inc. and contracted with other utilities as a consultant and instructor in energy efficient construction. Della and I are members of Lake Norman Baptist Church. I have served as a Deacon, Member of the Leadership Council, Chairman of the Properties Committee and served in other positions as has Della.
Della and I have traveled to all 50 states and have enjoyed the people and beauty of America. We thank God for good health and our family.
