Today's Featured Biography
Bill Weems
I went to Mississippi State and finished with a BS in Math and minor in Computer Science, which became my entire career. After MSU I went to Naval OCS in Newport, Rhode Island in February 1968 (which was quite a shock after our moderate Mississippi winters) and was commissioned an Ensign in June 1968. My Navy career was short as I never went to sea but had computer programming assignments in Washington (the Pentagon) and in Vietnam for 2.5 years.
After the Navy I went to work for McDonnell Douglas Corp. in St. Louis as a programmer and married Derelyn Schoenfeld in August 1971. Our two children, Elizabeth and Derek were both born in St. Louis.
In 1977 we moved to the Boston area where I had three jobs in IT, retiring from Fidelity Investments in March 2000. At that time, we built a home in Vero Beach, FL and later acquired a second home on Nantucket Island, Mass.
Since retirement I have continued to dabble in the computer field, starting two technical service businesses, and now have a part-time job doing technical writing and other stuff for a software company. In my spare time I enjoy golf, reading, cooking, walking, biking, the beach, and time with the family.
We are fortunate to now have four wonderful grandkids, three boys (11, 9, and 7) from my daughter and a girl (1) from my son. They all live in the Boston area.
I'm sorry to say I have to miss the reunion. Our life is is a state of change now since we are downsizing and have sold our Florida home with closing in mid-June. I would love to be there and wish you all a great reunion.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
