Today's Featured Biography
Rodd Wilcoxson
For the past 37 years I have shared the wonderful adventure of life with my college sweetheart. Charlotte and I met the first day of classes at Arkansas State University and became instant soul mates. I transferred to Memphis State after our first year of college to find my desired major in the design field. I pledged Sigma Chi Fraternity during my sophomore year becoming pledge trainer during the next semester. Charlotte and I have great memories of the fraternity days. Charlotte and I were married on May 17, 1975 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, Charlotte's hometown. We moved to Kennett in January 1976 where I worked for my dad and uncle in the furniture business. Enjoyed living in Kennett during that time; however, I needed to finish my degree. We sold our newly built home (thought we would raise our family in that house)and moved to Memphis, did my internship, and moved to Forrest City, Arkansas for my first non-family job. Forrest City quickly became home for us; I guess that is why we stayed there for 17 years. While in Forrest City (1981) we had a life changing event, Charlotte was stricken with M.S. the crippler of young adults. Charlotte's strong character and faith has been an inspiration to all who know her. In January of 1998 we moved to Jonesboro, again to follow my job. Charlotte commuted to Forrest City from Jonesboro where she was a Guidance Counselor in the Forrest City Public Schools until her health demanded that she take medical retirement. We live a simple life and take one day at a time. I now have a freelance design business which allows me the time to care for Charlotte as needed. We have a wonderful church family and attend as we can Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Charlotte and I were not blessed with children; however, we have 3 beautiful, little, toy poodles (Dixie, Katie, & Abby). My nephew Brandon and his wife have recently moved to Jonesboro with their 3 children along with my mother, sister and her husband.
