Today's Featured Biography
Betty Vest Lemon
Les and I celebrated our 46th anniversary on June 15. We were married three weeks after I graduated from Calvary Bible College in 1968. We lived wherever his career took us for the first eight years and then were fortunate to come back home to the KC area to live since 1976.
While Les was able to fulfill his dream of a career in meteorology, I was able to be a full-time stay-at-home Mom to our two daughters and our son. Our oldest, Kristen, married to Karl, is doing what I did all those years of being the chauffeur, nurse, teacher, etc. to her three children Nathan, Annika, and Molly in Milwaukee, WI. Allison is married to Jason, a pastor in Racine, WI and Jonathan graduated from law school and is working in a small administrative law firm in Mt. Home, AR.
Now that the children are grown, I have been pursuing some of my interests. When I turned 60 years old, I challenged myself to try something new every year. I've tried things I was curious about (working in elections, playing in a community band, for example), and have become a fanatical quilter.
My most rewarding joy is being Grammy to my three grandchildren who live too far away but we manage to find ways to be together fairly regularly. During the school year, I teach an after-school club called "Good News Club" (which is sort of like Sunday School) in one of our public schools in Independence. It is the highlight of my week and so fulfilling to introduce young children, kindergarten through fifth grade, to the Savior. I hope to continue with this ministry as long as the doors remain open in the public schools and I can put together coherent sentences!
Les retired from his full-time job about a year ago but still does consulting. We love the flexibility retirement affords our schedule.
Grandchildren: Nathan, Annika, Molly

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
