Today's Featured Biography

Ronald Moroni

The day I graduated from SWBC Bro. Dean told me that when I got called to my first church to let him know and he would come and preach my ordination sermon. He and Mrs. Dean came and did that on June 3, 1962. We kept in contact with them over the years and in 1976 my wife and I went to Bolivar and spent a few days with them. Then in 1977 he came back to IL and preached a revival in the church I was pastoring at that time.
I spent one semester at OBU in Shawnee, OK and returned to IL in 1962. I pastored churches and worked in the family owned hardware store in Creal Springs, IL. While in OK I visited one Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Guthrie and heard Dr. John W. Moody preach that day. He was pastor there at that time.
In 1963 I came to Campbellsville College In Kentucky and in 1964 met Shelby Burger and we married Sept. 19, 1964. In 1987 it was my priviledge to go to the Holy Land for 10 days, what an experience. In 1992 we returned to Kentucky to live and be close to shelby's family. I have done supply work and worked at various jobs in the Danville area. Since 1995 I have served as pianist at the Perryville Presbyterian Church. We are and will always be Southern Baptist but this is a good experience and I preach for them when I am asked. We were never blessed with children but love children and help everybody that we can.
