Today's Featured Biography
Cynthia Aplin Fox
Well...it's been a wild ride! I attended UMSL 75-76, but quit after the first semester (because I already knew EVERYTHING!). I moved out of my parents' home, met a guy from Pattonville, married him in 1977 and had three wonderful sons, Michael, Peter & Nicholas. I worked Part-Time in various jobs until all the kids were in school and then I got a Full-Time job at Schnuck Markets in 1987. My first husband and I divorced in 1990 and I started back at UMSL, but quit again after one year (couldn't afford to spend the time or the money on college while raising 3 sons on my own). I married a man I worked with in 1992, who had a 3-year old daughter named Kristen from a previous marriage. My oldest son Michael was hit by a car and killed in 1993, my second husband and I divorced in 1997 (but I got to keep my step-daughter) and my first ex-husband died in 1998. My first two grandchildren were born in 1999 and my two sons (along with their wives & children!) moved out of my home in 2001. In 2002, I met a wonderful man named Chris (a Chemist at Boeing since '83), married him in 2003 and took an early retirement from Schnucks. I am now Self-Employed, working Part-Time from my Home Office for an Arbitration Lawyer and running a Full-Time Home Day Care as well. Chris and I live very happily together in our house in Florissant, Missouri with our two girls; a Golden Retriever named "Lucy Lu" and a Chocolate Labrador Retriever named "Chili Bean". We both love dogs and music (Chris sings in a Rock/R&B band and I occasionally sing at Karaoke) and we both love the outdoors, especially the water. We like to go boating, fishing and camping in the North Woods of Wisconsin & Minnesota. We've both travelled North, South, East & West in the U.S. My sons live close by and visit with my grandchildren (Chris was married twice before too, but has no children of his own). My 17-year old step-daughter (who now officially knows EVERYTHING!) lives on her own in Bridgeton. We visit my husband's family in Northern Illinois (where he grew up) a couple of times a year. When the time is right (IF I live that long!), I plan on going back to school to resume my studies. I'd like to spend my Golden Years working as a Psycho-Therapist, specifically with people who have eating disorders. Yes, I'm still Fat, & Sassy! And...Life is Good, Life is Very Good! I've been blessed with a Strong Faith and Good Friends who have gotten me through the ups and downs of life. I've kept my Berkeley friendships alive and well over the years with Theresa Wade, Peggy Stoehr and Tanya Clark. Chris and I MAY be at the Happy Hour Friday night, but we will NOT be at the picnic on Sunday. Hope all is well with all of you!
Updated 02/07 - We've expanded our household to include two male Sheltie dogs, Riley (1 1/2 yrs) and Teddy (8 mo). We got them as puppies from a friend who is a breeder. The Shelties have the same father, but different mothers. Riley is tri-colored and Ted is sable. They are both about 14" at the shoulder and not more than 15 lbs a piece. Our Retriever Girls, Lucy & Chili Bean think we're nuts, but they still helped us raise and house-train the puppies. No one can EVER sneak up on our home or property without setting off the 4-Dog Alarm! We also added a new driveway ornament...a brand new 22" pontoon boat. We'd previously had a Deep-V Smokercraft, but decided after one season that we are both too old and fat to be climbing in and out of a Deep-V! We found the old boat a home with a nice "young" family who uses it every weekend, weather permitting. The pontoon boat is a lot more comfortable for us and all the dogs. We take the boat Up North to Minnesota on vacations and to local lakes and rivers. It's great fun.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
