Jean Lundgren Fauskee

I believe that one of my missions on earth, this time around, is to work with young children. I love teaching, being a Mom, and being a Nana!

In 1985, I returned to the University of Minnesota and completed my teaching degree. Since then I have taught first and second grade, and middle school language arts at the same parochial school for 21 years. This school year I am moving on to a new and exciting challenge… teaching first grade in a charter school of mainly Hmong students.

Tom and I have been married since 1972 and have two sons who have now given us two daughters-in-law and two precious grandchildren. We baby sit a lot and love it! We just found out that there is another grandbaby on the way and due in February.

After living in Marshfield, Wisconsin for three years, we have been in the Minneapolis area ever since. Our home is close to Lake Nokomis and Minnehaha Falls in a great neighborhood. With so many amenities nearby, it will be a good place to retire when the time comes. No plans yet for that part of my life. I’m enjoying my career too much right now.

My parents still live in Worthington, and my two brothers are in the Twin Cities.

One of my favorite quotes describes my spiritual beliefs. “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience .” (de Chardin)

My wish for all of you is to “Live in the present. Do the things that need to be done. Do all the good you can each day… The future will unfold.” (The Peace Pilgrim)
