I would love to live somewhere warm (and dry) but we haven't gotten very far on that dream -- still in EP -- never really left. One of these days though ...

I went to work right out of high school and had the good fortune of working for some fantastic people who believed in me and gave me some really great breaks. I "retired" from my sales job about 10 years ago and have somehow become busier than I was when I worked full time and had 3 little kids -- ??

My husband (a Bloomington Lincoln Grad) and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary this September. I'm not sure what makes me feel older -- a 25th anniversary or a 30 year reunion (or maybe it's that kid in college).

Our oldest daughter, Jennifer, graduated from EP in '08 and will be a sophomore at St. Thomas this fall. Her class size at EP was 825 -- how things change! It was fun to be part of her state-winning EPHS gymnastics team (she also won an individual state title and broke a school record!) during her time at EPHS.

Our youngest son, Andrew, and daughter, Christine,(twins) will be sophomores at EP this fall. They just got their driver's permits about a week ago so we have now driven every road in EP, during the day and at night -- twice. Two kids learning to drive at the same time -- life doesn't get much better than that!

Our son has been on the EPHS diving team and also plays soccer and lacrosse. Our daughter plays soccer and basketball at the high school and was on the EPHS 2009 STATE CHAMPION Girls Lacrosse team. I don't remember winning a lot in '79 so going "through the system" a second time in the 2000's has been a lot of fun!

With all the activities the kids are in, we keep really busy. I've also spent a fair amount of time watching Teri (Shold) Bailey's daughter play travel soccer (actually, my daughter and her daughter are on the same team -- but don't tell her that!) It is REALLY fun running in to former classmates and seeing their kids. I guess that's one nice thing about staying in the frozen tundra.

Every year when the list of retiring teachers comes out, I am always surprised at how many of them I know (and how many are still teaching at EP!) It is a little odd going into the school as a parent and not a student.

As I close, I will leave you with the words Conn McCartan says to EPHS kids at the end of every school day -- "so go out there an make it a good day .... or not .... the choice is yours" Gotta love Conn.
