Today's Featured Biography
Sharon Rollison Malone
I lived on East Beverly Street for 21 years. My parents lived there until Pontiac Motor bought the entire neighborhood for another parking lot. (It still breaks my heart to go by there.) They moved some of the homes to other locations but tore down others. Ours just happened to be one of the “others”.
I attended LeBaron Elementary School from kindergarten through the 4th grade and then my parents insisted that I attend Emmanuel Christian School. I stayed there through the 11th grade and when Pontiac Northern was built just a few blocks from our home I finally talked them into letting me attend a public school again. I attended Northern my senior year and was in the first graduating class (1959).
My first job out of high school was at St. Joe’s Mercy Hospital where I stayed for several years. I started out in the pharmacy and then transferred to the men’s wards as a desk clerk. From there I went to work for a doctor but only stayed there about 6 months because my husband was drafted into the army. We lived in Virginia for two years and then moved back to Michigan. I worked at Pontiac General Hospital until we had a baby.
I retired in 2002 from Clarkston Community Schools after working there for 18 years as the administrative assistant to the Deputy Superintendent of Business as well as doing some of the payroll and accounts payables. I also taught computer classes in the Adult Education Dept.
I try to go to Florida for 2 – 3 months every winter and have met many wonderful people there. There is always something to do or somewhere to go there.
I have two children. A son, Kevin Barnett, who is an RN and a daughter, Cindy Hundley, who is a dental assistant for the Orthodontist who put braces on her teeth when she was 13 yrs. old. I have 4 grandchildren and one on the way.
I have been divorced for several years but had a relationship with my best friend for nine years until he died in 2001 of lung cancer. I met him taking country western dance lessons. I also took clogging lessons for ten years.
Over the years I have sung in many choirs, quartets, trios, and duets. I love to sing but at the present I am not involved in any singing groups.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
