Today's Featured Biography
Nancy Poirier Spence
After graduating from the Univ of Maine at Farmington in 1991 I moved to Illinois. There I attended the U of I and received a Masters degree in Speech Pathology. My husband, Pat, is a pharmaceutical chemist and kept us on the move quite a bit, so we spent some time in Connecticut before moving back to Illinois and finally ending up in NJ where we have lived since 1998. Pat is currently working for Novartis Pharmaceuticals, the makers of Lamisil and Diovan.
Our first daughter, Isabelle, was born in 1999 and our second, Natalie, followed in 2002. My mother, who couldn't stand to be kept away from her grandchildren, moved here shortly after Isabelle's birth. We have been blessed to have her in our lives as she has been a tremendous help and source of support. She even let us go to Hawaii for two weeks last fall while she stayed with the girls!
Prior to Isabelle's birth I worked full time as a speech therapist. I cut down to part time status after and am still working only part time. I am also a certified aerobics and spinning instructor and teach classes at our local gym. I really enjoy this as I have been on a health kick for the last 10 years!
What I love to do in my spare time (when I have some) is read, scrapbook and ride outdoors.
