Today's Featured Biography
Thomas Slonaker
Married 46 years February 2016 and with 3 children and 9 grandchildren, we are blessed that they are all close by and with us constantly. After retiring a 25 year career as a financial planner and TV-Radio sportscaster I began to build and manage restaurants until we sold the last of them December 2012 to my great relief. As a financial planner with over 1,200 clients, I retired my practice in 2000. Expressing concern to those who had invested sizable amounts that the "game was stacked" I no longer wanted to play by the rules were being corrupted by the banks, S&L's (remember them?), investment firms, and the government. Glad I got out with sufficient warnings before the "great collapse". Now I operate just one business, an Entertainment Company that focuses on families and kids, and while I am certain that we haven't seen the worst of our economic downfall yet. I am grateful for life's blessings. Sadly, most folks seem resigned or just oblivious to the sad debt legacy we are leaving our children, rather than fighting the rising tide. And that is why I raise my voice to rally us.
