Today's Featured Biography
Michele Williams Greenfield
I am a retired computer programmer who like most retired people got bored and went back to work. I work part-time at my church five days a week. I was taking classes at Trinity University in Washington, D.C. toward certification in Catholic Education Parish Services. I graduated on May 21, 2009, finally. Go figure!!! I did it in the typical four years. Just something to do. I have accepted a position at Trinity University as a Program Coordinator for the evening program of EPS started in the Fall semester. I guess I just don't have enough to do. :-)
Four years after graduation from high school, I married a college sweetheart who is now deceased. We had one son who is a D.C. policeman and lives in Baltimore. I then married Clinton Greenfield as most of you know eight years after graduation from HS and we did a lot of traveling and living in different places due to his Air Force career.
Before the marriage ended, we produced three beautiful children who live in various parts of the country and are doing various things. Our oldest is employed as a project manager in Clifton, VA where she also lives. The second oldest is an Algebra teacher and Special Education Math teacher at a local high school and also coaches the varsity girls' basketball team. She lives in Lanham, MD. And last but not least, the baby boy works for a shipping company in Jacksonville, FL.
Okay, now the fun begins. I left California and ALL wifely duties in late 1980 and came back to the East Coast. One of the first things I did was went into modeling. I always wanted to do that but never got the chance. I modeled for about four years. I sold Real Estate for about two years. I did all these things while working full time as a computer geek. In 1997 I got tired of all that and retired. Now I have a job but I don't work. (Figure that one out.)
I'm a breast cancer survivor and a fighter. I'm not only fighting breast cancer but I was diagnosed with another rare cancer four years prior to the breast cancer diagnosis. Total survival years are twelve. Lost my hair but that's all good. I still have it; it just resides on my dresser now. I don't freak about any of this.
Breast cancer recurred in 2012 with additional surgery and chemotherapy which resulted in the lost of my hair again.
Oh, did I mention that I have 15 wonderful grandchildren? There are two sets of twins in that bunch. Then in April of 2008 my oldest granddaughter who lives in Colorado, blessed me with a great grandson. On September 13, 2010 she blessed me with my first great granddaughter. WHEW!!
I sure don't FEEL old.
I stay very busy and try my best to stay out of trouble. I still find time to travel and relax. So, on that note, I'm out.......
