14 PIONEERS WENT TO SEE CLASSMATE KARLA BURNS, WHO IS STARRING IN NUNSENSE AT THE FORUM THEATER LAST NIGHT. THE SHOW WAS FANTASTIC AND KARLA AS USUAL WAS AMAZING!!!!!
WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND I HEAR THE FIRST DAY OF GOLF WAS ALSO LOADS OF FUN.
IT IS STILL NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN IN. JUST SHOW UP AT PUMP HOUSE TONIGHT AT 7:00 OR WEST HIGH TOMORROW AT 11:00AM. ANYONE CAN STILL COME TO EBERLY FARM ON SATURDAY 4:30 - 10:00 - YOU CAN PAY AT THE DOOR. WE WILL HAVE PLENTY OF FOOD AND DRINK FOR ALL.

I attended WSU for one year (1972-73) after graduating from West. It was a great year-I pledged and joined Sigma Phi Epsilon, and was Rush Chairman my second semester, freshman year! As my son would say, I had an active social life that semester, and transfered to Oklahoma State University that summer, to repair my GPA.
OSU was the school of my dreams. Kind of a family tradition from the mid-1940's. Anyway, I stayed independent for my three years there but had many SigEp friends and brothers anyway. Got my degree in Business Admin with a minor in Risk/Insurance Management.
I followed my father's lead and entered the life and health insurance field. Pulled a few strings and actually got hired by his company to work in his branch office and I officially became a rel S.O.B. (Son of the Boss). While successful at what I did, I did not enjoy dodging all the questions about where my success really came from, so I changed careers and went into Human Resources (HR) work.
Now after 30 years in HR I've decided it's time to start doing somethings I really have wanted to do for myself. I now have a small business of my own, and I substitute teach about 2-3 days a week as well.
Along the way I married a sweet German girl (from western Oklahoma)with ties to Buhler, KS. We have two great (grown) children-the son went to that "Other University" down in Norman, OK-so he's not too happy with me right now.
Anyway, it's great to be back in touch with folks from home. I look forward to July 14, 2012 and seeing as many of you can can make the event!
