Today's Featured Biography
Laura Murray Frederes
Well, there has been a lot in 20 years. I am only going to give the short version-or at least try. After high school, I became an EMT and worked for Miami County EMS/KCK EMS for 5 years while putting myself through college. I rec'd my BA in Political Science and did nothing with it. I at least learned about our government. During my last semester of college, I married my husband Jonny Frederes from Blue Valley North. We bought a house and rehab'd the dump into a nice starter home which we still own today, but fortunately don't live in anymore. Then I started selling advertising for AUTO MART magazine (the free one in grocery stores as your leaving). I worked there for 5 years before I became a pharma rep for sanofi pasteur. (We are French, so we do not capitalize our company name.) I have sold vaccines for almost 6 years now. During the last two jobs, I had 3 children. Kaylee (10), Bailey (8), JC (6). My husband has his own business called Blue Valley Hardwood Floors. (Nice name, huh?! Notice how it's not Blue Valley North Hardwood Floors!?!) He has been in business since 1994. He also takes care of our first house (the dump) and 7 others that we rent out. (Actually, they are all pretty much dumps.)
The best part of the last 4 years has been the traveling that we have done with our family. Both our professions allow us to have lots of time off, so, we choose to travel as much as possible. When we are not on vacation, we are taking kids to sports functions and playing golf. We love entertaining, so every weekend night we have friends over to celebrate the end of the work week. I look forward to seeing everyone in June and celebrating the 20 years since high school!
