50 Year Reunion Announcement!
At this time we have no other information other than it will be in Sullivan the week-end of the Corn Festival in 2011. And the goal is to get everyone back for that one. I won't take an excuse......of we (my wife and I) are having a new baby, we will be on vacation or I am not retired. No just kidding. From experience, as many other classmates will tell you, you never know when you will not have another chance to see all of the classmates of 61. So mark your calenders right now. |

Today's Featured Biography
David Jarrett
After graduation from Indiana State University in 1965 I lived and taught in Richmnod, Indiana for two years before moving back to Sullivan and teaching and coaching at Farmersburg Junior High and North Central High School. We started the football program when I went there and I also coached junior high and JV basketball. I operated the Tote-A-Poke Restaurant in Sullivan for about 10 years then worked at InMed Corporation for three years. I also ran the City Pool for several summers and drove a school bus for Southwest School Corporation. In July of 1985 we moved to Polk County, Florida where I worked as an attendance officer for the school board. I retired from there December 2006 and we moved to Wellington, Florida where my daughter, Joie, and my grandsons, Mark, 14, and Brad, 11, live. Amy our older daughter lives in Pinehurst, North Carolina with her husband Steve. All this time I have officiated high school sports mainly football, basketball, and softball. I have been fortunate to officiate several state championship games in those three sports plus girl's volleyball. I play tennis almost every day and try to play golf two or three times a month. Tennis is alot more fun for me and much cheaper. I married Rita Lisman, Class of 1964,and she has put up with me for 45 years. Rita and I have been able to travel quite a bit. We went to China this past June and are going to Alaska with our families this July thanks to a 45th anniversary gift from our daughters, Amy and Joie. We have also been to Peru, Europe, Hawaii, Yellowstone National Park, Washington, DC area, Canada, and on several Caribbean cruises. We love to travel and will do so as long as our health and the money hold out. We hope to go to Egypt next year and the Panama Canal and west coast before time and money run out. I'm looking forward to our 50th Class Reunion and hope that everyone can make it......

From the Sullivan Daily Times 50 years ago.....Coach Bob Chenhall has 18 seniors, 16 juniors, 18 sophomores and 23 freshmen out for football. Dick Stockberger from Mishawaka, a 6-4, 190-lb. junior end, is the biggest player on the light squad on which most are in the 160-lb range. Only 10 of the 16 returning lettermen played much last year, and only three of them were starters.

Our 1961 yearbook was sadly but proudly dedicated to Kenneth (Buzzy) McCammon. Buzzy met his untimely death on October 2, only hours after he had, in his usual way, distinguished himself on the football field in a gamme with Gerstmeyer. On the gridiron his loss was keenly felt; more than that his absence in the halls, in the classroom, and in the community will ever be mourned. In death as in life Kenny will ever be a member of the Class of 1961. (As stated in the yearbook.)
