Today's Featured Biography
Jim Ryan
Still alive and well and living in Des Plaines, and keeping busy with my business, my family and my music. Married the love of my life, Katie, in 1979 and we're still happy, healthy and having a gas. Our oldest daughter, Kelly (22), graduated from Dominican University in May (Summa Cum Laude, no less!) and began her teaching career this fall, teaching 3rd grade in Elmhurst. Our youngest, Julie (20), is a junior at Concordia University on a scholastic and vocal scholarship. I'm a founding partner of ProSource Financial, LLC, a major benefits brokerage and consulting firm located in Glenview. I've also continued writing, recording and releasing original music with my brother John as "The Flyin' Ryan Brothers". Our 5th release, "Legacy" (2002), garnered four GRAMMY nominations this year. We didn't end up winning, but the nominations in and of themselves were a real treat (all this from a guy who never went to college and BARELY graduated high school---I was ranked something like 470th out of 475). I also have a solo album ("Truth Squad - Superkiller") coming out in November. What a long, strange trip it's been, and I hope that all my former classmates are doing well 30 years on. Looking forward to catching up on lost time at the reunion in November, God willing. Peace.
