Tamara Fitzpatrick

First - Though you all knew me as "Tammy", one of many in our class, I have used my given name "Tamara" since moving to Seattle 36 years ago. Not Tammy anymore for a long time! It will be weird if you call me Tammy and I prefer Tamara but I know old habits die hard so I'll probably forgive you if you call me Tammy once or twice :)

I went to Lakeland right out of high school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Right away I loved nursing and moved to Champaign and went to Parkland and got my Associate Degree in Nursing and became an RN in 1980. I've been an RN for 36 years now-- whoa -- kind of hurts just saying it.
After graduating from Parkland I traveled to Europe for a few months and then decided I liked mountains...prompting me to move to Seattle Washington sight unseen in the Fall of 1980. I've been in the Pacific Northwest ever since. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Seattle University in 1986. I met my husband in 1990 and have been married since 1991. He is a Salmon Biologist. I inherited one child upon marrying my husband, Kai who is now 30 years old, and together we created two beautiful girls, who are now 19 and 22 years old. I still work as a nurse. I do telephone triage for a large private primary care and multi-specialty clinic system near my home. Looking forward to retirement hopefully in the not too distant future and plan to travel the States.
