Today's Featured Biography
Mary Jenkins King
Married my husband in 1958. Worked for a short time and when Bill finished College we went to San Antonio, Texas for 6 months for Bill to do his Army duty. While we were there our first son was born. When we got back to Chicago, Bill went to work for Peat Marwick Mitchel Accounting Firm. We had three more children in the next few years. we now have 8 grandchildren and they are all boys except 1, Jenifer, she live in San Diego. I was able to stay home and take care of the kids and run a busy home. WE moved to California in 1970 and have lived here ever since. Went to Jr, College when the kids were Teens. We lived in Northridge for 6 years and then in Mission Viejo for 6 years and then we moved back to Northridge. Bill worked in the insurance industry for about 30 years. He opened his own CPA Practice doing Taxes, etc. I worked in Anaheim Ca for 5 years as customer service for a pipe and supply co. When we moved back to Northrdge, I worked at a collection agency on Wilshire Blve for 5 years. When Bill started his CPA Practice, I worked as the office manager till he retired. I started playing golf in my late 50's and now play 2 to 3 time a week. We live in a beautiful retirement community about 7 miles from Laguna Beach in California. We live a very active life. I also took up a wonder hobby since we moved to Laguna Woods. I make Quilts and do a lot of embroidery with my wonderful sewing machine. This summer we were visiting my daughter on Martha's Vineyard and she talked me into entering some of my quilting projects in the county fair and our of the 5 projects I got 2 blue ribbons and 1 red and 1 honorable mention. I have made at least 2 Quilts for all of my kids and grand kids.
