Today's Featured Biography
Steven Mane
Throughout my high school days, I had always said I was going to be a video game designer. However, I had no idea of how to exactly do it (e.g. I didn't know computer code, and I didn't know computers). So, after weighing my options, I decided to jump ship and become an actor. I took an acting class in my senior year of high school, and took video for my junior and senior years. Before that, I had met with an acting coach at a place called "Beyond the Words". It was high school that made me realize that video games were in my future, but not as a designer. I would be in them as a voice-over artist. Today, I am actively pursuing the field of voice-over acting, and can honestly say I know more about the field than anyone in Morton East history (save Joe Mantegna).
I was planning to go to the University of Kentucky, and in fact went there for registration. However, the college was overwhelming, and I went to Columbia College Chicago instead, where I spent a year and a half before leaving for financial reasons.
I am currently represented by DeSanti Talent Chicago and am registered on the exclusive website Voicebank.net. I've auditioned for the likes of Nike, IBM, Nickelodeon, "World of Warcraft", Colombo Yogurt, Preen, Target, the Henry Ford Center, the Minnesota lottery, and more. The competition is fierce, and so my biggest work to date is the independent video game "World in Danger" at www.coltgames.com. However, as soon as a major booking comes in, I'll be a happy man.
I am proud to say I am a phone pal of voice artist Lucien Dodge, who has lent his voice to the cartoon "Pokemon" and to commercial ventures including Verizon Wireless and Pop-Tarts. Also, I have networked with Chicago actor JoBe Cerny, also known as the voice of the Pillsbury Doughboy.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
