I attended Carroll College (Waukesha, WI) where I met my future husband, Doug. He majored in music (band) while I majored in math. I followed him to the Madison area where he was teaching band at Monona Grove Schools. I accepted a job at Sun Prairie High School just down the road. We both taught in our respective schools for 34 years. He retired in 2004 and I retired in 2005.
Our oldest daughter, Cindy, married a band director, Ian, in June 2006. She is a private percussion instructor and has her own studio in her home. Both Cindy and her husband are very active gigging whenver possible.
Our middle daughter, Jackie, is a middle school band director in Mineral Point, WI. She enjoys swimming, spending time with family, and works with the Sun Prairie Marching Band along with her older sister, Cindy.
Our youngest daugher, Sandy, is a junior at University of Minnesota majoring in kineseology and minoring in event management and volleyball coaching. Her favorite extracurricular activity is marching band.
My husband and I spend a lot of time playing tennis both indoors and outdoors. He gigs alot and I quilt, embroider, knit, crochet, etc. We both enjoy sudokus and having time together.
