Linda Wentzel Darnstadt
Moved from Chicago Ridge in 1965 with my Dad and step-mother. Met Bill on a blind date and responded to my Dad when he asked about my date, "He's the boy I am going to marry, Daddy!". Not til I was 21 was his response, so at 21 we married and will be for 45 years this September 20th.
Three children born of this marriage, our son deceased shortly after birth, but our two daughters are Jennifer (married Brandon Knappenburger in 2003), two children Lawton, 10, and Ella 8. Katherine (married Nicolas Anderson in 2009),Ohlin 3 1/2.
Bill is an electrical contractor, owning Lyons and Pinner Electric Companies in LaGrange, IL and I went into the office 23 years ago when he bought Pinner to straighten out the office. Must have done a terrible job because my 3-week job commitment has turned into 23 years!
In 2000, we bought our dream home in Lyons, WI just outside Lake Geneva. It is an extended farm house with the original structure dating back to 1860, the barn 1880, and our guest house is an expanded one-room school house moved to our property in 1900.
I enjoy gardening and reading, cooking and family and friends in my "spare" time. Will I ever retire? Don't think so as I know Bill won't and I am not moving from Burr Ridge, IL to Lyons, WI without him.
