Today's Featured Biography
Adam Carroll
After HS I went to UNI, graduated with an Electronic Media major and then realized that broadcasters make absolutely zilch, so I ventured into the advertising sales world.
(Prior to getting a full time job at a DMS radio station, I took 3 months off and backpacked across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Hawaii.)
But, I'd been bitten by the love bug so I followed Jenn to Colorado and had a myriad of jobs before finding my sweet spot as a professional speaker for a division of Monster.com. That gave me the opportunity to present to over 150,000 people in 2 years.
We came back to Iowa to start a family in 2002 -- didn't have a baby until 2003 -- and 3 months in I got a job offer in Waco, Texas. (No, it was not as an account executive with the Branch Davidians.) 364 days later I woke up and said to myself, "what the hell am I doing in Texas?" So, we came back and I started a seminar company teaching college students financial literacy. I co-authored a book with a friend of mine and we've presented our program to over 100,000 students in the past 4 years.
Last year, I started Iowa's first socially-responsible mortgage company called Four Legacies Mortgage. There are 7 of us in the company and while other mortgage brokers are closing their doors, we're thriving, so something seems to be working!
I'm looking forward to reconnecting at the reunion! Thanks to everyone who's helped out in the planning -- you guys rock.
