Classmates Purchase Food and Beverages Out of Pocket
HELLO CLASSMATES!
**UPDATE!** The location of our 70th Birthday Party has been changed.
The committee thought that a riverboat cruise would be fun, BUT, after reviewing the contract, we learned that the cruise deposit was non-refundable, food choices would be limited, and we would be sharing space with other people, including a large group of young teens. Also, we learned that the boat has a limited ability to accommodate classmates with mobility concerns. Given that, we scrapped the riverboat idea and considered other possibilities before deciding to hold the party at The Tangled Wood in Bettendorf, IA.
As some of you know, The Tangled Wood offers a wide variety of food, including gluten free and vegetarian options. It has a large indoor restaurant and bar, a covered outside eating area, a shaded grassy area (perfect for games such as Corn Hole), and live music in the evenings. It is handicapped accessible.
We will update classmates at key points along the way as our 70th Birthday Party planning continues.

The Pleasant Valley High School Class of 1974 Reunion was approved as a tax-exempt non-profit organization on October 17th, 2024.
The Internal Revenue Service requires us to publish a full copy of our Form 1023 tax-exempt application, determination letter and the latest copy of our annual return (Form 990-N Postcard) on our class website.
Unfortunately, the website's space limitations will not allow us to upload the full document. Given that, we have uploaded the determination letter and our most recent annual return along with this letter. The link to see the disclosure is located between "Class News" and "Class Message Board" toward the bottom of this webpage.

Deb Schurr Adamson recently discovered death notices for both classmates on the internet.
Larry passed in October 2024 and Dianne in April 2025. Abbreviated death notices were found on each funeral home's website. Neither classmate’s Facebook profile has been updated to convey this information.
