Today's Featured Biography
Lynda Sadilek Guinnee
After graduation I went to college-- Had my son, got married and went back to school. I started my career at PacTel at the very bottom of the totm pole as a long distance operator and worked my way through traditionally male held jobs (with alot of fighting for women's rights) into middle management and ended my career in the marketing department working in human resource development. One of the highlights of my career was being able to assist a first level manager in making her office self-managing and essentially this manager worked herself out of a job. She finished her career in a totally different part of the company. Ah but I forgot, I had my daughter 10 years into my career...All of my friends thought I was crazy! Looking back I think I was! When I retired from the telephone co. My son was in the navy (he became a navy S,E,A.L.) my husband and I decided that we had been in the California rat race long enough and moved our daughter and selves to rural Illinois. Now that was a true culture shock. I decided that retirement wasn't working for me and after trying several different jobs I landed the job of deputy city clerk for the City of Toulon (thriving metropolis of maybe 1200 people)that may be stretching it a little! What a great job and a real learning opportunity in city government and politics!
I maintained cemetary records, actually computerized that info previously it was all hand written! I billed residents for water, sewer and garbage services, created amendments to the city constitution and computerized those records, I wrote proclamations, helped with city elections and kept the books for the city. The bonus was I pretty much knew everybody in the whole town!!! When I retired from that job I really retired. Now I do volunteer work and pursue the things I want to pursue!! WHAT A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
