I just finished giving my daughter,Alexandra her 16th birthday party for 75 of her closest friends. The group said it was da bomb,so not much has changed for me. I still enjoy giving a party,and I cherish all the memories of the ones that we had at 3238 Skinner Mill Rd. The annual Halloween parties,the prom after party,and the senior breakfast still linger in the backyard like it was yesterday.The best party was when I moved from Raleigh,NC to return to my beloved family home to share my life with my family.Alexandra has heard all the stories of times with great friends,and how my parents loved them all.I design house plans with my husband of 20 years,Rick,which is an architect.I build houses and fill them with wonderful items to make my clients smile.I love being an Interior Designer and a University of Ga. Bulldog graduate,but not as much as I love my family. They are my greatest blessing along with friends that still know how to go back to our special place.Laura Curley Brinson,Penny Huggins Tierny,and I recently had 24 hrs.of totally irresponsible fun in Atlanta at the Fleetwood Mac concert. Thanks to Laura we went in a lot more style than in the past. Like the quote from,"Fried Green Tomatoes"the perks to being older and more insured is that we can do what we want, and others do not ask as many questions. I find freedom in this power. Charlotte Crosby Godsey and I express this freedom often.She has been a great and loyal friend from the time we were in the dorm at Georgia Southern to just yesterday.Patrica Hyman is back,and she has added so much to my school life when her son Brad started school at Westminister with Alexandra.Cindy Meehan Dukes and her family made my husband's stay in the hospital delicious when they shared Wife Saver chicken with him. Rick happen to share a room with Cindy's father in law.What are the odds of that? Morri Perry Edwards came back into my life after my body decided to change its'mind in how to behave,and she assured me that we all need hormones.Kathy Prescott reminded me to respect the time that I have been blessed to share with my mother.Laurie Bennett saved a kitten from the roof of her house at the expense of her saftey.What a big heart. Speaking of HEARTS, Nancy Harlan can make sure that your ticker works well, and she was a great deal of comfort with her cute humor. Andrea Hill Carey reminded me that we are always going to be there for one another when we came to Laura Brinson's side to love her through her pain of her mother's passing. I need to mention Andrea Lum that touched my life on the day I had always dreaded the most. Andrea appeared on the very day I learn that I would lose my grandmother to cancer.I know that this is supposed to be an update on my life,but my life would not have been a life without all those that made the CLASS OF 1979. I want to see all those not mentioned in my bio,so be sure to come to the party of the century. The skies will part,and the winds of time will blow us all out of our shoes.
