Today's Featured Biography
Ricardo Albu
After graduating from SCHS, attended Central Connecticut State University where I played football, but due to an injury had to give up the game after two years. President of the Greek Fraternity OKD for one year. Graduated in 1971 with a BS major in Marketing and minor in Economics.
Married the love of my life Nancy (Nelson) after college in 1972 and just celebrated our 45th anniversary. Two amazing children Julia and Marc, and our first grandchild due this November.
Joined Nestle USA in 1972 and worked for 16 years in Sales, Marketing, and Strategy in New York and Vevey, Switzerland. Attended IMEDE in 1980, a six month Business Leadership-Executive Development Program in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Joined Watchman & Partners as VP US Operations in 1988, a business development consulting firm with offices in NYC, Mexico City and London. After seven years, founded Albu Consulting in 1994, a strategy consulting firm focused on helping private and family-owned middle market companies develop and execute growth strategies. After 23 years in business, we have worked with over 100 companies making a difference in the lives of owners, employees and their families.
Volunteer work included Board member of the Darien Junior Football League for sixteen years and coached grades 3 to 8 for 12 years. President of the Darien Junior Football league for four years, and Board member of the Fairfield County Junior Football League for 7 years. Currently a founding member of the Board of advisors at the University of New Haven's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center working with undergraduate and graduate students to develop their skills in starting and running a business.
