Today's Featured Biography
Lisa Fournier Dzis
I graduated from UConn in 1970 with a B.A. in Liberal Arts. Most of my employment has been in offices of one kind or another doing clerical work, bookkeeping, and accounting. Since I was always a very poor student in math, I took a course in accounting at the Morse School of Business. I got into the construction business in the 1980's running the office for a small electrical contracting firm. We are still in business in spite of the enormous challenges of operating a small business in Connecticut. I still enjoy opera, my favorite hobby is gardening, I'm a crazy cat lady, and I quit smoking three years ago.
Lisa’s Obituary
On July 16, 2019, Lisa Fournier Dzis, 70, of Port St. Lucie, Florida departed this life as she lived it: on her own terms. Lisa was born in Hartford, CT to Patricia (Cifarelli) and George Fournier. As an elder member of a large family, Lisa took an active role in her siblings' lives and shaped us into the people we would become. Lisa graduated from Hartford Public High School, the University of Connecticut, and the Morse School of Business. She spent most of her career managing Michelson Electric of West Hartford. However, not entirely satisfied to sit behind a desk, Lisa entered the field donning a hard hat, tool belt, and work boots. Lisa was a complex woman. Reminiscent of a cultured 19th century lady, Lisa relished opera, classical music, singing in her rich soprano, a good book with a cat or two (or more!) by her side, and her beautifully tended gardens. Nonetheless, she was a product of her time: a fervent liberal and fierce feminist, she championed and epitomized the self-made woman, the stalwart sailor, and the independent spirit. Lisa leaves to celebrate her legacy her life partner Dan Michelson; her loved and loving Connecticut and beyond family; and her best friend, Marilyn Bell. She joins her parents, brother Edward, brother-in-law Greg, and too many adored pets to name. The family extends its thanks to Treasure Coast Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. For a full obituary, please visit www.allcounty.com. Contributions in Lisa's memory may be made to The Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111. Shalom.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
