Today's Featured Biography
John Harris
After Graduation I started my career in Boulder working as a laborer for Melody Homes, where I met a very good friend Gary Francis, his dad owned Melody Homes at the time, which made it a good job but not a career. In November 11, 1966, I hired out for the Union Pacific Railroad. I worked as a Switchman-Brakeman until Jan. 1968 when Uncle Sam sent me a welcome letter, so I joined the Air Force as a F-111 mechanic. I spent 6 months in training and 3 and a half years in Las Vegas ( Nellis Air Force base ) if you ever get a chance to live there ( DON'T ). I got out in 1972 and went back to work for the Union Pacific. I hurt my back in a train derailment August of 2004 so after 38 years with the railroad they said they couldn't use me any more so I took my pension.
I have two children, if you ever have a chance to do that ( DON'T ) and two wonderful Grandsons, who we spoil a lot when we see them. My kids kept moving back home after they Graduated, so we bought them both a home in Sterling Co. to keep them away from our home. I also bought a Miniature Golf Course and Batting cages in Sterling to keep them busy between jobs. Now they don't like working for Dad so they have found other employment. and the Golf Course is now for sale if any one is interested.
I married Linda Burnham in November 1966 and we are still happily married going on 39 years. We live in a nice ( Melody Home in Thornton ) Linda is a Registered Nurse working for Centura Health at Ask - A - Nurse. She was an emergency room nurse for most of her career and really loved it, but due to her MS she was forced to find a less stressful job. However she is doing pretty good with her illness and I am very proud of her. She has 2 more years before retirement and then we are going to sell every thing and buy a motor home and travel till we get tired, then settle down in Oregon.
I better quit this is getting boring ... I hope we can make it to the Reunion it sounds like fun.
P.S. as you all might already know, I lost my 2 best friends ever in this life .. Jeff Watts and Kenny Chambers, But good friend Bill (Poore) Havengar is still around and doing great. If you ever get a chance to go play on his 160 acres and drink a bunch of beer .. ( DON'T )

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
