Today's Featured Biography
Lynda Bahn
After graduation, I lived in Ogallala Nebraska for 2 years and came back to Colorado for a short period before moving to Detroit Michigan. I lived in Detroit for 2 years and became a LPN. I also had my first 5 Foster children while there. I came back to Colorado and became an EMT, and worked on the Northglenn Ambulance and the ambulances out Denver General.
In 1972, I married Douglas Bruce and moved to Atascadero, CA. I became a paramedic while attending San Lous Obispo College and worked on an ambulance there for 4 years. During those 4 years, I had and lost 4 children. I was divorced in 1978.
From 1976-1978, I lived in Georgia and worked on the ambulance there as a paramedic and continued to have Foster Children. By this time, I had 14 Foster children in my care. I came back to Colorado in 1978 and worked in several hospitals as ER Nurse and Ambulance.
In 1980, I was injured in an accident that left me unable to work as a paramedic again. In 1985, I was diagnoised with MS.
In 1991 I started doing Foster Care full time. I got Danyele in 1991 and adopted her in 1995. In 1997, I went back to school to become an accountant and worked for United Airlines from 1998 until 9/11/01. Part of my job with United Airlines was to fly into different airports and assess the handicapped areas.
My Job entitled me to do lots of flying and Danyele was able to go many places with me. We have traveled coast to coast and border to border and to the Bahamas.
I went back into Foster Care in 2000 and I currently have had 63 children in my care. We are currently trying to adopt Nicklaus, a 1 year old. The children keep me young.
I was able to adopt Nathanael (Nicklaus) on Sept. 13, 2007 and Zechariah Nov. 17, 2007. After these two adoptions, I stopped doing Foster Care having had 72 Children in my home over the years.
We moved Firestone CO on Dec.29, 2009. As of 3/19/11 my Children are Danyele 20 going to Summit Christian College in Neb. Nathanael 6 is in the first grade and Zechariah 4 is in preschool.
