45 Year Reunion Announcement!
45th Reunion Cancelled |
|
Dear Pirates,
Earlier this year we charted a course to reach the Island of Marriott on Sept. 10th for a reunion of our Alameda Class of ‘77 Pirate crew. But alas, ill winds ran us 45 degrees off course. As a result, we are forced to cancel our plans for the 45th Reunion and are looking forward to our next rendezvous in 2027 at the 50th Reunion.
We had very positive responses and encouragement in the spring from fellow classmates. However, pent-up demand for post-pandemic travel; the resurgence of Covid-19; economic worries; and general life issues like work and caring for elderly parents/spouses/siblings, and/or children/grandchildren, interrupted the enthusiasm. In the end, reservations were much lower than anticipated.
Please stay in touch via this Class Website. Create a profile and continue to let us know about fellow classmates.
We wish you happy and healthy sailing over the next few years and look forward to sharing some grog in 2027.
With heartfelt sincerity,
Your Reunion Committee

Help Us Find These Missing Classmates
Of the nearly 600 students in our class, we need help finding the classmates listed in the linked document! Our goal is to collect an email address for all classmates, as that is the most cost-effective method for communicating about our reunion.
For some of the people below, we have home addresses and phone numbers, but no email, or a defunct email address. In other cases, we can’t confirm the information we have, or can’t find any details whatsoever on their whereabouts.
If you have contact information for any of these people, or find yourself on this list, please send your updated information to [email protected].

Today's Featured Biography
Sharon Drews DeVito
After Alameda, I attended CU Boulder where Evon Atencio and I were roommates freshman year. Such fun memories! I then joined the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and graduated in 1981 with a BS in Journalism.
From there I began a 25-year career in public relations for the insurance industry, ending as Director of Internal Communications for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
When a merger eliminated my job, I made a lifestyle change and began working in support positions for Jeffco Public Schools, ending as the Athletic Secretary for our rival, Lakewood High School (sorry classmates). In 2020 I retired, but have remained a substitute secretary for the district.
I am blessed to have four children - Elz, Joey, Drew and Heather, and one son-in-law, Landon. No grandkids yet, but my husband and I enjoy our 105 lb. Great Pyrennes/Maremma Sheepdog, Moxie. We live in west Arvada.

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
