Today's Featured Biography
Paula Caranci
It's hard to believe 30 years has gone by.
I feel like I've accomplished more in the last 10 years than in the first 20.
I worked for Boulder County Government from 1993 to 2001. My employment with the county began with a position in the payroll office. Then, I was promoted to Accounting Supervisor. After working in two boring, monotonous and dead end jobs for a total of seven years, the time was ripe for a change. Fortunately for me, I was finally ready for a major career change. And, at age 41 I quit my county job and became a full-time student. I was in a different world for 4 years; a total change from the 8-5 grind. For the first few years it was really fun, but by the last year the honeymoon was over. I was growing tired of the accelerated classes at Regis, and Senioritis was setting in. However, after 4 years of hard work, the day I'd been striving for finally came...the commencement ceremony. On December 19, 2004, I graduated from Regis University with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and a minor in Psychology. During the school stint I also worked part-time for an investment brokerage firm (A.G. Edwards) in Broomfield. In 2005 I left the financial industry to pursue a career in real estate. For almost 2 years now I've been selling single family homes, town homes, and paired homes for New Town Builders at Coal Creek Village in Lafayette. In addition, I'm a realtor with Keller Williams Realty Professionals in Westminster. And, last but not least is my home based travel business. It's been in existence since 1995. I specialize in domestic and international luxury travel (cruises, tours, yacht charters) packages. In spite of the fact that I work a lot, I really love what I do for a living. Finally, there are only a few things that haven't changed over the past 10 years...no kids, I still live in Broomfield with my cat (Cleo), and I'm still single and loving every minute of it!!
In my spare time I love to travel and play racquetball. I also enjoy fine dining, going to wine tasting events and concerts.
