Not knowing what else to do & doing what was expected of me after graduation, I enrolled at CSU & got a degree in Sociology/Anthropology in 1970. There I met my husband, Eric, & we've been married almost 50 years, which is unbelievable and shows you what a patient understanding person he is to put up with an Irish redhead. We have one son, Eric E., who is a computer programmer living in Raleigh, NC.
Being a late bloomer, it took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do with my life professionally. The catalyst, when I was in my late 30's, was my aging mother's memory loss and inability to live on her own. Because there were only a few choices available at that time for caring for someone with dementia, I became interested in gerontology and went back to CSU to take classes in that field. I'm still working and employed by Catholic Charities in Greeley (I'm a former Catholic). I work with very low-income seniors (some living on as little as $740/month) who live in their homes, and I work to connect them with programs to help them financially and sometimes with home health care. Since most of them don't drive anymore, I do a lot of home visits, which I love. Many of them have taught me patience & resiliency & that a positive attitude & a sense of humor help you get through life so much better than being a curmudgeon.
Eric & I have been fortunate to travel to Mexico, Belize, Honduras, and Costa Rica as well as to Ireland & Hawai'i. I also got to spend a semester in Ireland, which gave me a chance to see some of Scotland and Wales.
We also enjoy hiking and skiing and listening to jazz. He's a river rat who went down the Grand Canyon in a canoe (not my kind of excitement). Eric's been a long time junior high school teacher & tennis coach. Although he officially retired in 2006, he has continued to coach tennis and occasionally teach a class or two.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
