Today's Featured Biography
Elizabeth Purcell Bryson
Following High School graduation, I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at San Jose State University, complete with teaching certificate - my first job was in the Mission district of San Francisco, teaching at the Junior High level. After a short while, I took a maternity leave of absence, then moved to Sacramento and was fortunate to enjoy the 'home' raising of my son through his fifth birthday. Returning to the Bay Area, I worked in the corporate world for a number of years; the employers were California Blue Shield, Bechtel Corporation and Stanford University - these positions were in the Human Resources and Management fields.
Upon moving to Washington State, I was offered a position with Providence Health System in Anchorage, Alaska and that was quite an experience - life was very different for a California native, and I learned alot about a very different part of the United States. During this time, I also completed a Masters of Science degree at Antioch University Seattle.
When I returned to the 'lower 48' the next assignment was at Oregon State University, followed by Eugene Water and Electric Board -following that, I developed my own consulting business based on my work experiences - it involves project management, change management, and human resources; I have enjoyed this current work as a consultant very much.
Additionally, I have also become a Master Gardner, completing the course offered by the Oregon State University Extension Service, an that led me to seasonal work that I do for The Home Depot in the garden area. The next goal in this area is the certification program in Horticultural Therapy, which I will begin in the next few months.
I live near my son and family, and enjoy that very much as my work kept me away for a number of years.
Some activities that I enjoy include fitness swimming, hiking, river rafting, traveling,
studies in Hawai'ian culture, music and dance, and working with golden retrievers - in the spare time, I partiicpate in volunteer activities with Hospice, Golden Retriever Rescue, Community Food for Lane County, and the local Slow Food movement.
I still travel, though lately, most of it has been vertical from Western Canada to California and points between. I also am a breeder of golden retrievers, that business name is Bryson's Goldens, and if anyone saw the DVD, 'Air Buddies', one of the Bryson's Goldens litters was the major part of the 'buddies' cast - there are currently four goldens in residence, along with a rescued cat.
I look forward to the Reunion and will be able to attend Saturday and Sunday functions.
Elizabeth Purcell Bryson (AKA Eddy Purcell)

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
