Laura Arnez Arnez

I am currently an at home mom of 5 children living near Elk Grove. I have been married to the same awesome guy for 20 years!! I have 3 biological children and two adopted children.
After high school I attended ARC and CSUS to eventually earn a Master's Degree in Social Work. I was employed for several years at River Oak Center for children. I was able to earn hours and pass my written and oral exam to become a Liscensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW...kind of like MFCC) AFter earning my certificate and having more children I decided to stay home and volunteer at school, church and in the community.
My five children range in ages 14-3 and keep me very busy but they also make me feel younger than I am! I love being with them and sharing in all they learn at school and church. They all have different personalities and interests which keeps things far from dull! (I always told my mom as a kid "I hate being bored!" If anyone has questions about adoption I would love to share more on how we were able to get these cute little ones and keep them as our own!!
I have always loved being outside and riding a bike, running, walking or hiking.
Later in life I began to pursue more in the field of running and became quite good in the 5K and 10k Fun Runs in the Sacramento area, often placing 1-3rd in my age division. I pursued the possibility of doing Eppie's Great RAce and from 1999-2002 came in top 10 for my age division!
I also pursued more in the way of running, completing my first half marathon and marathon in 2000. I have run 7 marathons since and I have been able to qualify and run the Boston marathon two times! That was definitely a highlight in life!
Now I am pursuing the dream of competing in Triathlons...swim, bike and run.
I have finished several Sprint and Olympic Distance Tri's and am currently training for my first Half Ironman Triathlon to be completed in March 2006. Any questions about endurance events...ask me and I would love to share! Thanks for listening!!
UPDATE: I just turned 60 Whoo hoo!! And I live in Folsom with the same awesome guy of 37 years!! Youngest child is now 20 and oldest is 31 and married! No grandkids only grand dogs!!
I still love running and in 2009 completed a FULL IRONMAN TRIATHLON in Arizona!! I have been to Boston marsthon 4x and am currently training to go back to the marathon sooner than later lol!! Love strength training and yoga as well as walking my sweet dogs! My biggest love in Life continues to be Jesus and I volunteer ALOT at Bayside Christian church!
