Today's Featured Biography
David Jackson
Howdy, y'all!
1975 seems like ancient history to me these days, and a lot of beer has been downed since then. These days, I find myself up in the great Pacific Northwest where I've been since 1980. I live in the forest across from a wild river called the Molalla. It, and the local town 10 miles away, is named after the native Americans who inhabited this place in the 1800's. I have a house built back in the 1890's which I've restored/remodeled to period authenticity. Once used as a stagecoach stopover, it sports its own dance hall. As the yearly cowboy dance parties I throw have gotten large, when I build the new barn I made it into a dance hall as well. I’ve gotten pretty good at 2-stepping and line dancing, and there is a pretty good following up here. It provides a good social life for me in Portland one a week.
I received my BS in Electrical Engineering from UCSB in 1979. From there, it was off to Intel in Portland Oregon. Since then, I’ve worked for a number of high tech companies in Oregon. Its pretty unstable, so every few years I find myself looking for another job. So far, this hasn’t really been a big problem, but it would be nice to work for some company long enough to retire. Oh well, its nice to dream.
Relationships have come and gone. Currently, I’m unattached and looking, so if you know anyone interested in country life, let me know. Never married, no kids, but I’ve got 3 pretty cute dogs and 4 barn cats. They’re a handful.
Photography is my main hobby these days. I’m working on my skills to produce fine art photos of the area and places that I’ve been. I have a growing collection, and I’m thinking about opening up an eshop to make them available for people. Stay tuned on that. Other activities are improving my woodworking skills out in the shop, administrating my computer systems and network, and long motorcycle rides. Sounds rather odd , but somehow it all fits into grand scheme of things.
Personally, I’m in relatively good health, constantly dieting and trying to control my weight (currently at 180 lbs), still have hair (but thinning), and always run with a mustache and goatee. Remember, I’m single, so I have to pay attention to these things.
Anyhow, enough about me. Hope y’all stay in touch. Dave

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
