Today's Featured Biography
Kristy McFarland
Have lived in western Colorado since 1979 after talking with fellow knee sugery patient at Hoag Hospital in 1978. She had wrecked her knee skiing in Crested Butte (while I had wrecked my knee siing at Badger Pass in Yosemite Nat'l Park). Both our parents flew us into Hoag for knee surgery, which is where we met.
After hearing her describe Crested Butte, I enrolled at Western State College in Gunnison, where I majored in skiing (minored in Biology and Art). I have lived here ever since. I am still dilligently working on my skiing degree, but have also picked up a computer information science BS and an MS in managment of information systems, both from the Univeristy of Maryland. (finally got serious about education)
Whilw working in Denver at a drinking water research facility (commuting from CB - 3 1/2 hours over 2 mtn passes), I got a call from our local county commissioners, asking me to consider running for county assessor. I did, ran, won (11% margin) and am now a bureaucrat! Ha. Those who remember me from high school might be amazed.
I have two great kids (despite their teenager status) - Alexandra and Emmett. And a wonderful boyfriend (ex-husband's best friend :-). We're in te midst of building a house on the "bench" in Crested Butte.
My sister, Kate and brother Ian (twins, class of '79) are both well. Ian is in Montrose, Colorado, running a marble and tile business and Kate is living in Aspen, Colo, working as a counselor for recovering partiers.
Look us up if you are in our beautiful little ski town - we have an apartment for visitors.
Ciao -

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
