After two years of college at Cal State L.A., Diane married John Wanlass and moved to Provo, Utah, where she received a degree in Speech Pathology from Brigham Young University. Diane's son Jim Wanlass was born while they were living in Salt Lake City. He was six months old when they moved to San Jose, California. After her divorce from John Wanlass, Diane did secretarial and word processing work. In 1984 she married Gregg Gill (a general contractor and cabinetmaker). She had two more children and had the opportunity to expand her 'career'. . . she not only became an office manager and bookkeeper for Gregg's cabinet shop while taking care of the kids, but was also enlisted to do plumbing, roofing, painting, carpentry, tile work, etc. with Gregg when he started building houses! Diane's real interests, however, include dancing (ballroom, tap, square dancing, swing, etc.), being with friends, playing games at parties, attending reunions, doing handiwork/crafts, and finding bargains at garage sales - not that she has time to do any of these things!
After traveling from California to Florida with three children (including a 1 and 3-year-old) in a 5th wheel in 1988, Gregg realized he wasn't really on "vacation"! They ended up in beautiful Sedona, Arizona, where Gregg built a spec house. When Gregg was asked to do some remodeling in L.A., it gave them the opportunity to stay with Diane's mom, Lillian, in Eagle Rock for about a year. They've been back in northern California building homes and remodeling since 1992. (Lillian passed away in 1997 of Alzheimer's after living with Diane and her family for three years.) They've just moved into Gregg's latest creation after living in a motorhome for over two years. Now Diane's son Jim and his family have moved into the motorhome for about six months while his home in Utah is being built. Gregg's parents (ages 88 and 90) also live with them — so it's ten people and two dogs!
Diane is currently Primary President (children's organization for her church) and Cub Scout Committee Chairman, and Gregg is Scoutmaster for their church troop. In addition to helping Gregg with his business, Diane has two other jobs - a video rep and a reading specialist at a private school. Her boss developed a phonetic reading program, and they are writing books and other materials to use with it. The books have only a few sight words (words you can't sound out phoneticlly), and some none at all - try writing a story without the word 'the')! Their books can easily be used with other reading programs. (see our website at www.readandseebooks.com)
Diane's son Jim graduated from BYU in graphic design. He is married and has two daughters (a 3-yr-old and a 1-year-old). Diane's other two children, Amy (17) and Brad (15), keep her busy with all of their activities, piano lessons, recitals... Amy also performs in two choirs and is in a Polynesian dance troupe which performs for luaus, weddings and other parties. Brad spent many years on the soccer field, but now prefers a Go Kart track or his '68 Volvo P1800. He can also be found with his head under the hood of a car . . . they're hoping there aren't any left over parts when he puts their little Festiva back together! Brad will soon complete requirements for Eagle Scout. Their hectic schedules don't leave much time to spend at their vacation house at Clear Lake. Their favorite family vacation is going on a cruise. They started with the Caribbean, but have also cruised in Europe, Russia, the Mediterranean, New Zealand and Australia. How about an L.A. High School cruise?!?

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
