Today's Featured Biography
Gable Matsumura
After graduating from Dorsey, I attended USC for 2 years. Transferred to Woodbury College graduating in 1967 with a degree in Business, while working 2 jobs.
After graduating college, I was selected to participate in an accelerated management training program with Security Pacific Bank. Wile in training, was drafted by the US Army in March, 1968.
Served with the 1st Air Calvery Division in Vietnam. I was assigned to artillery as a Forward Observer. Being based along the Cambodian border, my duty was to engage in aerial reconnaissance for all of our firebases. Awarded the Army Commendation Medal and Air Medal. Honorably discharged in 1970.
After returning from Vietnam, Sandy and I got married while on leave. We spent the last 6 months together at Fort Knox, Kentucky, before being discharged.
Re-entered Security Pacific Bank management program in 1970. Became Bank manager in 1972. In 1975 was interviewed by Abbott Laboratories for a sales management position within their Pediatric Division. Served as sales manager and trainer with Abbott Labs for 21 years. Retired in 1996.
My career now is playing poker at the local casino, tinkering with my vintage Corvette, landscaping, gardening, doing minor home remodeling projects, and "grandfathering" my terrific grandkids!!
